Open Source Support Agreement

Rather than get distracted with lots of legalese, let's outline what a support contract for one of our open source packages buys you.

• Deploying an open source product within a business can be seen as a risky choice because there's no guarantee that the people who developed the software are going to stay interested and support it. Buying support means that there's a real financial incentive for the developers to not only stay interested, but also to stay actively involved in the product's development. This help reduce a company's exposure in being dependent on an Open Source product as a part of their business.
• Bug fixes are made on a "best effort" basis as quickly as practical. Bugs from clients with support will take precedence over others. Supported clients may also participate in the development process testing out proposed fixes to problems or taking part in design decisions during that process.
• Object Craft run mailing lists for some of our open source products and through that you can contact the developers and other users to talk about development using the tools. Building on other people's knowledge and experience helps make better quality design decisions earlier, saving time and money during deployment. Just having someone to talk about the product with can repay the support fee.

  That said, We won't write your application for you, we can do that as a separate contract though.
